‘I Plan To Finish Him’: Boxing Champ Mike Tyson Comes Out Of Retirement To Fight Jake Paul
Mike Tyson, 57, says he's "looking forward to stepping into the ring" with 27-year-old Jake Paul.
The youngest heavyweight champion in the history of boxing, Mike Tyson, 57, will return to the ring on July 20 to face 27-year-old Jake Paul, who gained notoriety as a YouTube personality before turning to boxing.
Netflix, along with Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), announced on March 7 that the fight will stream live on Netflix. Tyson and Paul will fight at the Dallas Cowboys’ home stadium, AT&T Stadium, in Arlington, Texas, which has a capacity of 80,000.

Tyson has a record of 50 wins and six losses. Paul, who calls himself “The Problem Child,” has a record of 9-1.
“I’m very much looking forward to stepping into the ring with Jake Paul at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas,” said Tyson in a statement. “He’s grown significantly as a boxer over the years, so it will be a lot of fun to see what the will and ambition of a ‘kid’ can do with the experience and aptitude of a GOAT. It’s a full-circle moment that will be beyond thrilling to watch; as I started him off on his boxing journey on the undercard of my fight with Roy Jones and now I plan to finish him.”
Paul started making waves in his boxing career on the undercard of the Tyson-Jones fight on Nov. 28, 2020, when he knocked out former New York Knicks basketball player Nate Robinson.
“It’s crazy to think that in my second pro fight, I went viral for knocking out Nate Robinson on Mike Tyson’s undercard. Now, less than four years later, I’m stepping up to face Tyson myself to see if I have what it takes to beat one of boxing’s most notorious fighters and biggest icons,” said Paul.
No undercard match has been announced yet.
