Newly released findings from a Justice Department autopsy finds the death of unarmed teen Michael Brown to be ruled a homicide.
The results from the federal autopsy, which were released on Dec. 8 by
St. Louis prosecutor Bob McCulloch, echo those of two previous reports carried out by St. Louis County’s medical examiner and a private examiner hired by the Brown family. According to the findings, Brown died from close-range gun shot wounds, which caused him to suffer “severe injuries of the skull, brain and right chest.”“The manner of the death is homicide,” said the Justice Department’s medical examiner.
The new autopsy report comes
just weeks after a Missouri grand jury decided not to indict officer Darren Wilson in the Aug.9 shooting death of Brown, and just days after a New York grand jury decided not to indict officer Daniel Pantelo in the chokehold death of 43-year-old Eric Garner. Both cases have sparked new protests and rally’s across the nation, with supporters demanding an end to racial injustice and police brutality.SOURCE: NBC News
