According to CBS, Mekhi Phifer has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. Entertainment Tonight has obtained documents showing that he claims to owe $1.3 million in debt, against just $67,000 in assets. He reportedly owes $1.2 million from back taxes.
Phifer supposedly also owes $4,500 in back child support. He has two sons; Omikaye with ex-wife Malinda Williams and Mekhi Jr. with ex-girlfriend Oni Souratha.
Legal documents show that the House of Lies actor spends around $11,600 in monthly expenses, but pulls in only $7,500.
