Name: Louis Johnson Jr.

What is your profession: Image Maker, Style and Trend Specialist

What is your age: 48

Inspired by having a relationship with God, Johnson knew at an early age that the garment industry was his calling.

“As a young boy I would watch my grandfather (a pattern drafter), my mother and other family matriarchs create and sew,” he tells BE Modern Man. “In my sixth grade home economics sewing class I said to myself, ‘this is what I enjoy and have a desire to do—sew and create.'”

Sewing and creating has positioned Johnson in a unique place within the garment industry, with his products meeting at the intersection of entertainment and fashion. He says, “what sets me apart is my creativeness, style technique, and ideas. I am truly the accessory king and style god!

Being an educated, fun-loving, God-fearing, hands-on father to twin sons is what Johnson is most proud of. “I am a father, not a dad,” he tells BE Modern Man. “There is a difference, and this difference is what powerful black men represent as a BE Modern Man. We represent progress.”
