Mary J. Blige Hit With $3.4M Tax Lien

What’s up with all these singers with tax problems?

Lauryn Hill is headed to prison over her tax issues and now Mary J. Blige, Hill’s “Miseducation” collaborator, is facing a tax lien of her own, The Associated Press reports.

Court documents show the Internal Revenue Service, on Feb. 7, filed notice of a $3.4 million lien on Blige and her husband, Martin Isaacs, in New Jersey.

The filing shows Blige owed more than $574,000 in federal taxes for the 2009, more than $2.2 million for 2010 and more than $647,000 for 2011. A representative for the seven-time Grammy Award winning singer said Thursday she’s working “with her new team to resolve all these issues as quickly as possible.”
