According to CBSSports, Golden State Warriors coach and former NBA player, Mark Jackson, has stated that he feels basketball fans should boycott tonight’s Game 5 playoff game. Of course, on the opposite side of the spectrum is Los Angeles Clippers coach and former NBA player, Doc Rivers, who feels that the fans should show up to support the players.
“As an African-American man that’s a fan of the game of basketball and knows its history and what’s right and what’s wrong, I would not come to the game tomorrow, whether I was a Clipper fan or a Warrior fan,” Mark Jackson said.
The controversy revolves around Clipper owner, Donald Sterling, stating on audiotape, that his ‘girlfriend’ shouldn’t bring any black people to The Staples Center, along with other racist and inappropriate statements related to racial stereotypes, specifically towards black people.
