Hollywood Hitmaker Mara Brock Akil, S. Epatha Merkerson and More to Appear on Women of Power TV
In this weekend’s all-new episode of Women of Power TV, host Caroline Clarke conducts a one-on-one exclusive interview with Hollywood power player Mara Brock Akil.
With her hit television series The Game ending and a new season of Being Mary Jane in the works, Akil talks about her work in Hollywood and her mission to bring diverse and complex images of black Americans to our television screens. A graduate of Northwestern University, she details her journey from being a college journalism major to one of Hollywood’s top writers and producers today.
Then, in our “Power of the Purse” segment, Black Enterprise‘s Senior Personal Finance Editor Stacey Tisdale shares tips for lending money to family without putting yourself in a financial hole. For our new “Power Forward” segment, actress S. Epatha Merkerson talks about her work as a spokesperson for the American Diabetes Challenge and why it’s important for individuals in the black community to stay on top of their health. Lastly, in our “Luxe Life” segment, Cheryl B.
