A man arrested for assault in Santa Monica, California attempted to use the identity of Nia Long’s eldest son.

Tamir Rasool Morris was arrested last weekend in Santa Monica after he assaulted a random person in a park, TMZ reports. When questioned by police, Morris told them his name was Massai Dorsey II, the name of Long’s 23-year-old son.

Not only did he give Dorsey’s name, he even gave his birthday by day and month. But Morris was off by two years. His verbal identity theft was exposed when he got to the police station and was fingerprinted, which revealed his real name and birthday.

Morris admitted to pulling Dorsey’s personal information from the internet. Morris was booked for assault with a deadly weapon and false impersonation. He is currently in jail on $30,000 bail.

Long is a mother of two sons. Dorsey is her eldest while she shares her 12-year-old son Kez with ex-fiancé Ime Udoka. Long recently opened up about how her split from the NBA coach impacted her elder son.

“I think my older son saw me trying to keep the family together. But I had to come to a place where loving myself was bigger and more important than saving anybody,” she told Jeezy in a candid conversation published on his YouTube last month.

Long, 53, opened up about her public split from Udoka that came after he was fired from the Boston Celtics for having inappropriate relations with a female staffer.

“I had a really public breakup recently,” Long told Jeezy. “It was a wakeup call for me in the sense of like, ‘OK, you’re going to do this on your own and you’re going to be fine and you’re not going to worry about what anyone thinks and has to say.'”

“The relationship was rocky for a very long time,” she added. “I don’t believe another person can break anyone up.”
