Malika Haqq Teams Up With Naked Wardrobe For New Clothing Collection For Mothers
Actress and reality television star Mailka Haqq is expanding her business. The new mother announced her collaboration with fashion brand, Naked Wardrobe, to create her “Mama Mailka” mommy-and-me clothing collection featuring an assortment of fashion sets for new mothers to match with their infants.
This will be Haqq’s first design project and she says that the collection was inspired by mothers who want to carve out there own path as they enter a new stage in their life. Haqq recently gave birth to son Ace earlier this year in March.
The collaboration will also partner with the social enterprise group, Made by DWC, to donate a portion of the collection to the organization’s resale boutique to raise funding to help women transitioning out of homelessness.
“I sought this out myself, with a brand that I love and represents the same morals, values, and ideals that I do when it comes to family and business. I hope to be an inspiration to women, mothers, and single mothers who want to carve out their path,” Haqq tells BET.
“It’s so important to do the things that you love, and I want women to see that it’s possible. As a new mother, I wasn’t sure how motherhood and my creative passions could collide, and the Mama Malika collection gave me the best of both worlds….My son is my inspiration for this collection and why I’m betting on myself as an entrepreneur. I want him to know that it’s important to take chances on yourself and that he too can go after his passions and his dreams.”
