Home improvement store Lowe’s says they will hire 54,000 part-time workers during the spring season and that 9,000 of the jobs will be permanent, the Atlanta Daily World reports.
Both the seasonal and permanent jobs will be split among the 1,745 locations they have in the US, Canada and Mexico. Each store will hire about 26 workers.
The company, which is based in North Carolina, will be hiring cashiers, lawn and garden specialists, loaders and stockers. The average work week will be 20 to 25 hours. The seasonal jobs will continue through September.
