LaKeith Stanfield Calls Charlamagne Tha God ‘A Lame’ After Radio Host Says Actor ‘Was Born to Play’ an FBI Informant
iHeartMedia’s The Breakfast Club conducted a virtual interview with Judas and the Black Messiah star Daniel Kaluuya last week to discuss the film and the importance of the subject. While speaking to Kaluuya, Charlamagne Tha God gives a backhanded compliment to Kaluuya’s co-star, LaKeith Stanfield, by saying that he felt that Stanfield “was born to play this role” inferring to his character being an informant.
He initially asked Kaluuya if he viewed his co-star in a different light because of the role he played in the film. “Did you find yourself looking at LaKeith differently after he played this role, cause he did it too well.”

Stanfield did respond to the post by stating, “Hoes. This is what hoes do. Get sonned by reality. Get off me bro u a lame. Daniel ain’t an idiot. Leave me be dog and find somebody else @cthagod.”

This isn’t the first time that these two had words between them.
Back in November of 2019, Stanfield felt that some Black media outlets are “anti-Black.”
In an Instagram post, the actor revealed, “It’s a fact that a lot of these platforms are usually or tend to be feeding grounds for negative reinforcement toward BLACK “nonconformists.” They bolster faux vanity and hold a white supremacists scope over black men and women often highlighting negative attributes and downplaying mind-expanding ones. They serve as bottomless coward consumption pits and digital, audio, or otherwise slave mentatilty museums. @ all you want”
For Stanfield’s post, he earned the illustrious “Donkey of the Day” from Charlamagne. “You can say any and everything about me. I’ve damn near heard it all about myself online. But what you won’t do is ever fix your lips to call one of my platforms, especially The Breakfast Club, anti-Black,” said Charlamagne.
He also said, “I’m not going to sit here and act like we’ve gotten it right all the time, because we haven’t. We’ve made plenty of mistakes on this radio. All that critique is fine. But, Lakeith Stanfield, don’t you ever fix your raggedy-ass mouth to call the author of Black Privilege – because I truly believe it is a privilege to be Black – anti-Black.”
