It is rare and often times unexpected to hear of a woman being sentenced to the death penalty. Unfortunately, that is the fate of a Texas woman Kimberly McCarthy.

McCarthy was scheduled to be put to death at 6 p.m. tonight, but a judge put a stop to the execution delaying it until April.

McCarthy was sentenced to death after being found guilty of killing her next door neighbor, a 71-year-old woman in her home by stabbing her. She was also thought to be responsible for the murder of two other elderly women.
