Operation Help or Hush was taken into action in the days following the death of Michael Brown on Aug. 9, 2014. On the very first day, the organization was a success, feeding more than 200 protestors in addition to providing them with cooling towels. Within days, more than 1,000 people were fed, local organizers received the help they needed, and the company helped serve the Ferguson community. Wade took social media to the streets in order to raise awareness of the issue.
Wanjuki is a blogger, social media strategist, activist, and feminist, and like Wade, implements social media tools to help promote social justice and equality. She specializes in nonprofit organizations, online communications, advocacy, and women’s issues. She also does public speaking, touching on controversial issues our nation faces, along with her related experiences.
Pierre-Louis is a professional strategic marketing and career consultant who implements marketing campaigns and plans for clients. Her past clients include VitaCoco, NYBG, Jura, and LIIT Brand.
The three panalists will cover all topics related to social media and the importance it has on not only the lives of millennials, but people of all ages.
