Today, Jill Scott will be returning to her alma mater, Temple University, to receive an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree.
The Philly native and Grammy Award-winning artist is being recognized for her charitable contributions to her
hometown. In addition to a successful music and acting career, Scott is also the founder of the Blues Babe Foundation, named after her grandmother. With her foundation, Scott works to help youth in underserving communities by providing programs that promote leadership and academic excellence.The entertainer attended Temple University for three years and majored in education.
