The Rev. Jesse Jackson confirmed that his son, former congressman Jesse Jackson Jr. is under medical supervision due to the strain of his legal troubles and his bipolar disorder, according to the Associated Press.
The Jackson patriarch admitted in a statement released on Monday that “the hurt was indescribable” in regards to his son’s recent issues with the law.
Jesse Jackson Jr. and his wife Sandra decided to plead guilty to charges brought against them by Federal prosecutors on Friday.
Jackson Jr. was charged with conspiracy for allegedly using $750,000 of his campaign money on personal expenses, including celebrity memorabilia. His wife was charged with filing false joint federal income tax returns.
