‘It’s Game Time B******!’ Sha’Carri Richardson Flaunts New Look Ahead of Prefontaine Classic Showdown
“That girl,” Sha’Carri Richardson is ready to roll and hit the track in a Prefontaine race showdown.
Richardson will face all three Tokyo Olympic medalists in the women’s 100m, headlining a star-studded field in the Diamond League 2021 Prefontaine Classic as NBC Sports’ live coverage of the 2021 USATF ‘Journey to Gold – Tokyo Outdoor Series’ concludes on Saturday, Aug. 21.
And “Carri” came to win and took to TikTok showing off a new look, platinum blonde long-flowing locks, which is just as captivating as her burnt orange-red ‘do she displayed when she raced and qualified for the Olympics.

Richardson, competing in her first event since the U.S. Track & Field Trials, will face the three women’s 100m Tokyo Olympics medalists: Jamaica’s Elaine Thompson-Herah (gold), Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce (silver), and Shericka Jackson (bronze).
Also expected to compete in Saturday’s field are Allyson Felix – who in Tokyo became the most decorated American Track & Field athlete ever – in the women’s 200m, Tokyo Olympics 400m hurdle silver medalist Dalilah Muhammad, 800m gold medalist Athing Mu, shotput gold medalist Ryan Crouser, Tokyo Olympians Ajee Wilson, Emma Coburn, Matthew Centrowitz and more. The men’s 200m is expected to feature Tokyo silver and bronze medalists Americans Kenny Bednarek (silver) and Noah Lyles (bronze). In the men’s shot put, gold medalist Crouser, who set an Olympic record in Tokyo with a 23.30m throw and a world record in Eugene at the Olympic Trials, and silver medalist Joe Kovacs are both expected to compete. Tokyo Olympics gold medalist Katie Nageotte is expected to headline the women’s pole vault event this weekend.
Following Crouser’s Olympic record shot put of 23.30 meters in Tokyo, NBC Sports’ Paul Swangard said: “That’s like taking a bowling ball, going to the free throw line, turning around and trying to throw a three-quarters shot the other direction. It’s impressive athleticism and strength.”
NBC Sports’ 2021 USATF Journey to Gold – Tokyo Outdoor Series coverage featured five U.S.-based events, which began April 24.
The race will take place at the University of Oregon’s Hayward Field. NBC will present live coverage from 4:30-6 p.m. ET Saturday, with Peacock’s live coverage begins at 4 p.m. ET prior to live streaming NBC’s 90-minute show.
