Urban Business Roundtable Spotlight: NFL Vet and Entrepreneur Israel Idonije

This week on The Urban Business Roundtable, Joi Weathers chats with 11 year NFL veteran Israel Idonije. A defensive lineman, Idonije is the founder and creator of Blessed Communion, a venture that sells dual-chambered, pre-filled communion cups and wafers. This year the company is expected to sell over 40 million units. Idonije, a native of Lagos, Nigeria, is also the recipient of the NFL’s Ed Block Courage Award, which recognizes players who exemplify the principles of courage and sportsmanship, as determined by the votes of their teammates. He is also founder of The Israel Idonije Foundation, which supports initiatives including Project Africa, Shop for A Cop, and after-school programs for youth. Idonije joins the Roundtable to share just how he became so committed to his life of service.
