Ice Cube Will Be Meeting with President Biden to Discuss Contract with Black America
O’Shea Jackson will finally get that Contract with Black America looked at by the current president! NWA founder and Hollywood heavyweight Ice Cube stated in a recent radio interview that he should be meeting with President Joe Biden soon to have the discussion regarding his Contract with Black America.
Ice Cube discussed the situation with Majic 107.5’s Ryan Cameron.
As NME reported, Cube said, “Yesterday they reached out. I believe it will go down sometime this month. I don’t know exactly when. I’m available. I will make myself available. I know this new administration is really into helping all minorities, but I believe Black people in this country are in a unique position. I think there needs to be things, as far as specialty programs—you know me, I’m all about reparations. It seems like a bad word to this administration but we gotta change that. And add some fairness to this system.
“I knew, at the end of the day, whether a Democrat or Republican is in the White House, they’re still not looking at our agenda in the right way. It really don’t matter. We still gotta get them to acknowledge and remedy the situation. So right now, they like to acknowledge, but nobody wants to do what it takes to remedy the situation … So that’s the part we need to get on these politicians about: actually fixing it. And they have the power to. They just won’t do it.”
Ice Cube has promoted his Contract with Black America since last summer:
Instead of looking for incremental reform, the Contract with Black America tries to address the root causes of racism in our society and develop a roadmap for a comprehensive solution. Beyond the obvious, we need to focus on the areas of banking and finance, justice, policing, education, Hollywood depictions, as well as a system of reparations. None of these work in isolation, this plan looks at the systemic core of racism as a whole, and only in that way can a true solution be born.
