Historic Black Enterprise Magazine Covers: Jobs in Science and Tech, Feb 1983
As a precursor to the current talk of STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) as a means of career advancement, BE devoted an entire issue to career opportunities in science and technology, which highlighted the achievements of America’s black astronauts and aerospace professionals.
On the cover was Lt. Colonel Guion S. Bluford Jr., who made history as the first black to travel to space on the Challenger shuttle.
