At the height of the Vietnam War, BE was the only national publication to deal with the economic and financial plight of returning Black G.I.s.
The cover feature placed a bright spotlight on a problem that is relevant today with the end of U.S. involvement in the Iraq War and the winding down of the Afghanistan War–ensuring that soldiers who fought for the country gain financial, career and business opportunities on the home front.
