GLAAD Calls for More LGBT Diversity on TV Networks

While gay and lesbian advocacy group GLAAD has saluted TV networks for their efforts in  portraying more gay and lesbian characters, it is calling for networks to increase its diversity among LGBT representations.

In its annual Network Responsibility Index, GLAAD

found that two-thirds of all gay-and-lesbian-
inclusive hours showcased white people, pointing to a need for more minority representations among LGBT portrayals on
television. The CW network, which received the highest mark from the organization, has led the pack when it comes to diverse representations in the gay community with its African-American characters Tariq and Kal in the series, LA Complex.
