In 29 states it’s legal to fire an employee for being gay, according to CNN.
While on a national
level many Americans have evolved on the issue of same-sex marriage, in many states like Mississippi, Oklahoma and Alabama, gay Americans are not protected under laws that prevent discrimination of their orientation.Federal laws protect workers from being discriminated against because of their sex, race, religion, national origin, age and disability — but not sexual orientation or gender identity.
