For $3, a New York family has hit the lottery, metaphorically speaking.
The family went to a garage sale six years ago and bought a Chinese bowl. On a quest to uncover the value of the bowl, the family ventured to Sotheby’s to uncover the bowl was over 1,000 years old.
The bowl was confirmed to be from the Ding Dynasty dating back to either the 10th or 11th century. The family was able to sell the bowl for over $2 million dollars, and Sotheby’s plans to sell it for $300,000. The bowl is the only other known bowl of its kind from that era.
