50 Cent Branches Off To Louisiana To Lay Ground For G-Unit Film & TV Studio

50 Cent looks to expand his media empire in Louisiana.

New York-bred rapper and businessman Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson has taken his dreams and production company to the land of Louisiana.

In a recent Instagram post, the “Get Rich or Die” recording artist announced that the G-Unit Film & Television Studio he briefly teased earlier this year has been approved and ready for business. The venue is located in Shreveport.

According to Fox 8 Live, the entrepreneurial lyricist was able to obtain a lease for the city-owned studio for an annual cost of $2,400. The city council voted unanimously to approve allowing the G-Unit chief to lease what was known as Millennium Studio, with the agreement that the company would manage the building maintenance. It was approved for a 30-year lease with an option to renew for another 15 years.

KSLA News 12 spoke to Councilwoman Tabitha Taylor about the approval for the studio.

“We already know that 50 Cent is a mighty mogul in the entertainment business. But, the residual effects for local businesses here is what’s going to be felt. We have rebranded Shreveport in the entertainment industry, and now we are considering ourselves back again as an entertainment mecca.”

“The significance of this picture is great; a Republican mayor’s office and a democratic majority City Council have never voted unanimously together on anything,” 50 wrote on Instagram. “This picture is historic this day actually represents the future of Shreveport, betting on me is not a gamble🤨it’s a sure thing. 🎥G-unit film &Tv GLG🚦GreenLightGang 💣BOOM💨@bransoncognac @lecheminduroi”

Earlier this year, 50 posted a short video clip teasing the 985,000 square foot G-Unit studio, promising his followers that it was forthcoming.

Along with his successful set of series on the Starz network, earlier this year, according to Variety, 50 signed a deal with Fox Entertainment to write dramas, live-action comedies, and animated series through G-Unit Film & Television.
