Many employers have dress codes for their office that must be adhered to maintain the company culture. Disobeying the dress code can result in different reprimands that could lead to termination. It depends. While employers can’t fire you based on race, sex, national origin, age, disability or other protected categories that may relate to appearance, there are some appearance-based firings that may be perfectly legal.
