Former NFL Stars Back Gun Control in New Ad for Mayors Against Illegal Guns

President Obama’s executive gun laws haven’t gone over well with everyone, but with the help of former NFL stars Deion Sanders, Emmitt Smith, Michael Irvin, LaDainian Tomlinson and Marshall Faulk, perhaps some Americans will change their thoughts on gun control.

According to thegrio.com, the five football greats teamed up with Mayors Against Illegal Guns to release a “public service announcement in favor of gun law reforms,” which aired this past Friday (February 8). Deion Sanders starts the PSA by asking, “How many more street corners?,” followed by his fellow league players asking a number of other unanswerable questions.

The football hall-of-famers urge the public to “demand a plan right now,” because we’ve had “enough.” The Mayors Against Illegal Guns website reads, “More than 48,000 Americans will be murdered with guns during the president’s next term. How can President Obama face that fact without a strategy to end gun violence? It’s time to Demand a Plan.”

In the wake of Hadiya Pendleton’s murder, along with other young adults across the country in the past month, it seems that the public might finally grow tired of the violence.
