of minimum requirements, but still want to attend?
We do not admit students who are not qualified for admission. They need to work hard in high school and take advanced courses to be prepared. We take a holistic look at all applicants and no one area disqualifies a student. We want to graduate all students who are admitted, so graduation is the goal not just admission. Students should contact admission officers to discuss any concerns they have about their qualifications.
What advice do you have for applicants?
Visit, and be in touch with the regional counselor for your area or other members of the Multicultural Team. Be timely with both admission and financial aid application. Do your very best job on your application. It tells us the most about you. Do not let the sticker price of Davidson scare you away, be aware of our fine financial aid (including NO student loans) and take a hard look at the benefits that Davidson offers. Spend the night on campus, go to classes, meet students and faculty and staff. See what a special place this is.
What kind of opportunities do you have for non-traditional students?
We have limited space for transfer students, very few non-traditional students, and a full component of international students and services.
How does the university weigh GPA, SAT scores, extracurricular activities, college essays, and recommendations during the application process?
Course selection coupled with achievement (GPA) area the most important, supported by essays, recommendations, activities, leadership, and lastly Standardized testing. Again it is about preparation, contributions to Davidson and graduation!
What is the student-teacher ratio?
