Jonathan Ferrell was only seeking help for an accident before he was killed. According to reports, Ferrell’s car must have hit trees, and he was only able to get out by climbing through the back window. After exiting the car, he walked half a mile to the nearest home and tried to get help.
The lady who answered the door called the police when she didn’t recognize the person knocking. When the police arrived on the scene one
of the officers attempted to taser Ferrell but missed. Another officer, Randall Kerrick, fired at him several times killing him. Ferrell was pronounced dead on the scene.
