Chick-fil-A President Dan T. Cathy took to Twitter to express his opinion on the recent Supreme Court ruling on DOMA, calling it a “sad day.”
At 11:22 a.m. Wednesday morning, Cathy tweeted, “Sad day for our nation; founding fathers would be ashamed of our gen. to abandon wisdom of the ages re: cornerstone of strong societies.”
The tweet was quickly deleted.
“He realized his views didn’t necessarily represent the views of all customers, restaurant owners and employees and didn’t want to distract them from providing a great restaurant experience,” Chick-fil-A said in a statement on the company website.
