Chicago bluesman Jimmy “Fast Fingers” Dawkins passed away Wednesday at 76, the Associated Press reports.
The cause of death is unknown.
Dawkins was born in Tchula, Mississippi and taught himself to play guitar before moving to Chicago in the 1950s and made a name for himself playing with the likes of Otis Rush and Buddy Guy.
Dawkins’ first album, “Fast Fingers,” was released on the Delmark label in 1969.
