Charlamagne Tha God has been utilizing his voice to make people understand the importance of being involved in politics. Although he has made it clear that he is not voting for President Donald Trump, he does give the Republican president credit for “actually talking to young Black male voters,” according to Real Clear Politics.
In an interview with CNN’s Don Lemon
, “The Breakfast Club” radio host explains the thinking when it comes to courting Black men this election cycle.“When it comes to the Black people you see who maybe, you know, showing support for Trump, I just think, you know, it’s because Trump is actually talking to young Black male voters. He is directing ads toward them.
“They are a group that never get courted.
I mean, Black people don’t get courted either as a whole. But that old Democratic regime speaks to old Black men. I think everyone else in the Black community and Black families, they are supposed to fall in line. They know Black women are going to show up regardless.“Like I said, he speaks to older Black men, and he thinks the rest of us all speak the same language. So Trump is targeting young Black males from marketing. It works.”
In the same interview, he explicitly states he is not voting for Trump and was asked if Sen. Kamala Harris being on the ticket swayed his decision.
He
replied, “Oh, absolutely. I mean, when we were pushing for Joe Biden to pick a Black woman as his V.P., Senator Harris is who I had as mine. I am voting for Kamala Harris. I tell you that in a heartbeat. I am not necessarily voting for Joe Biden. I am voting for Senator Kamala Harris.”
