So Facebook swooped in to assist small businesses by giving them a platform to shine through its “Good Ideas Deserve To Be Found” resource to demonstrate the value of people finding small businesses through Facebook and Instagram.

Jennifer Purnell, the founder of the Black-owned September Nail Salon located in Tennessee, announced that her establishment was included in the Facebook campaign feature that will appear throughout the summer months, according to BlackNews.com.

“We are grateful to Facebook for this opportunity. In addition to being a part of this campaign, we also received their small business grant and met with members of the U.S. Congress to discuss current issues affecting small businesses,” Purnell said.

The campaign also focuses on how digital tools and “ads help small businesses grow from an idea into a livelihood,” Facebook announced in February of 2021.

“Facebook has been instrumental in helping us grow and promote our business. We anticipate it will become even more integral to our business as we seek to grow the reach of our hand-crafted bath and skincare product line, September BODY, with the launch of a new subscription service,” Purnell told BlackNews.com.

The boutique nail salon provides manicure and pedicure services. However, Purnell did not simply rely on providing a basic nail care service to customers, according to September Nail Salon’s website.

The business stands out with distinct points of interest–from the luxurious vibe depicted in online photos of the physical location to its hand-crafted products, which consist of items such as body butters, bath bombs, and beard oil.

Purnell is the CEO and founder of September, Inc., in addition to being “a speaker and consultant” who previously worked in the corporate world, according to her LinkedIn profile.
