Just exactly who will some 300 people in New York’s Rensselaer County be voting for in the presidential election?
Barack Obama or Barack Osama? Well, in the upstate New York county hundreds of voters were sent absentee ballots in which they could vote for “Barack Osama.”
The misspelling, which elections officials on both sides of the aisle insist was simply a typo, is causing embarrassment for the county, according to the Times Union of Albany.
“This was a typo,” said Republican Commissioner Larry Bugbee. “We have three different staff members who proof these things and somehow the typo got by us.”
We all know that in the U.S., the the best-known person named Osama is Osama bin Laden, leader of the al Qaeda terrorist group.
The county Democratic election commissioner is apologizing for what he calls a terrible mistake.
Readers: What do you think, was this a typo or intentional mistake?
