President Barack Obama leads Republican nominee Mitt Romney by six points nationally among likely voters, according to a new CNN

Fifty-two percent of those likely voters said they support the president, while 46 percent said they favor Romney. Obama’s support increased by four points since the last poll that was conducted before the Democratic National Convention, which only separated the president and Romney by two points.

In addition, more likely voters believe that Obama is more equipped to handle the economy, with 50 percent in agreement that he would do a better job than Romney. Before the convention Romney led 51 percent to 45 percent.
