Actor Anthony Anderson Partners With Northwestern Mutual, Advises People: ‘Get a Financial Plan in Place!’
Actor Anthony Anderson and his mother, Doris Anderson, have partnered with Northwestern Mutual to help spread the word about the virtues of financial planning. He posted a message to his 1.6 million followers on his Instagram account: “Get a financial plan in place!”
“2020 made us all realize the importance of being prepared for the unexpected. My one piece of advice as we head into 2021: get a financial plan in place. This new year I’m working with @northwesternmutual to share the power of financial planning and how it can help you achieve your dreams today and the ones you have for the future while protecting what matters most during challenging times. Whether that’s rebuilding a business after a difficult year, finally taking that vacation, putting your kids through college or buying your dream home (like my mom!), working with a Northwestern Mutual financial advisor can help make it all happen.”

Anderson spoke to Reggie Wade at Yahoo Finance and expressed the need to do some financial planning in 2021.
“A lot of people may think that they don’t have the capability or knowledge of doing it when we’ve been doing it our entire lives, not knowing that we were, preparing for financial stability. It can be as simple as saving up for that loved one’s birthday or, better yet, Christmas. You know Christmas is going to tax you at the end of the year, So at the beginning of the year, you start putting a little bit aside every week, every month or so until Christmas comes. So you’re not hit over the head, and you’re not overextending yourselves for the holidays, that is financial planning.”
Anderson talks about his 67-year-old mother buying a house for the first time this year after she met with a financial planner for the first time. He partnered with Northwestern Mutual to inform people about the importance of financial planning.
“For me to be in a position to be able to pay it forward for her and for us to be able to work together is truly a blessing. So I just want to continue to build upon that brand and lift as I climb. In doing so, I share the wisdom and the knowledge that I have and that’s what this partnership with Northwestern Mutual is all about. I’m sharing the information I’ve gained from them and sharing that with my mother. It’s allowing her to understand the value of a dollar and what the value of a dollar is in the future.”
