The African-American Fine Art auction will take place this month at Swann Galleries in New York City.
The auction will feature artists like Elizabeth Catlett, Norman Lewis and the “Trumpet Player” creator, Charles White.
The list of notable names round out with greats like Kara Walker, Romare Bearden and Richmond Barthe.
Some works being auctioned off are Hughie Lee-Smith’s “#4,” a prime example of the artist’s Detroit-inspired ’50s works, as well as a rare oil-on-wood work by “The Banjo Lesson” artist, Henry Ossawa Tanner.
The African American Fine Art auction will take place on February 14th, 2013.
