Without question fall is here, urging many of us to pull out our cozy knits and thicker threads.
However, if you are anything like me, you keep pushing off that wardrobe switch from your summer clothes to fall and winter clothes. With the right adjustments, you may be able to hold off just a little bit longer, as there are a couple of summer staples that can easily transition into the cooler days of fall.Bold print pants: These were a huge trend in the spring and summer that carries through into the fall and winter. Instead of packing them away and buying a new pair for fall, just change up your tops. Switch out those complementing colorful tops for darker ones
with more substantial weight. Play up the dark color in the prints with complementing long sleeve blouses and knits that can easily transition from the hot days of summer to the cool days of fall. Start off with a cardigan, a blazer or a soft leather jacket. On even cooler days, turn that maxi dress into a maxi skirt, piling on turtle necks, cozy knits and pair of tights to protect
yourself from the cool weather chill. The trick with taking summer dresses into fall is to work with a dress that has some weight to it. Stay away from fabrics like jersey, linen or light silks. Those are way too summery and will not transition very well into the cool weather fall promises. These are just a couple of tips to transition you wardrobe, but always remember, its the fabric and the quality of the material (such as cotton and cotton blends) that will help you determine what will stay and ultimately what will be packed away.
