Founded by Willie Wilson in 1997, Omar Inc. is the seventh largest black-owned company in Illinois. Omar Inc. is a leading manufacturer and distributor of medical, industrial, and food service products.
The University Park, Illinois-based company supplies work gloves, first-aid kits, protective clothing, corrugated boxes, and trash can liners among others. In February 2009, the company acquired Oak Gloves Manufacturing Plant to expand its services and reach. Revenues for the company in 2008 totaled $40 million.
