In 1987, Amos Otis founded SoBran Inc., a technical and professional services company, with nothing more than a dream and his makeshift basement office. More than 22 years later, SoBran Inc. has grown to become the sixth largest black-owned company in Ohio.
SoBran specializes in biomedical and environment research support, supply chain solutions, as well as security screening and program management services. Clients include the U.S. Navy, the U.S. Army, Department of Energy, and the Pentagon among others.
The Dayton-based company operates 15 offices in 11 states including in Fairfax, Virginia, Burtonsville, Maryland, and Jacksonville, Maryland.
In 2008, the company reported revenues of $55 million–up 19.7% from the previous year.
