Brother and sister business partners Valerie Daniels-Carter and John Daniels founded V and J Holding Companies in 1982. Within the first year of operations, the Daniels had acquired a single Burger King franchise. Since its inception, the duo has grown the company to include 137-restaurants including Burger King, Coffee Beanery, Haagan Daz Ice Cream, and Pizza Hut.
In 2008, the company grossed sales of approximately $90 million.
Today, the Milwaukee-based firm is the largest minority- and women-owned franchise organization in the United States.
