There is currently a cultural journey taking place in New York City in the month of February- the Black History Month 5-Boro Tour, that features various beacons of black culture.
“The idea for the 5-Boro Tour for Black History Month was inspired by the Partners in Preservation program, sponsored by American Express and the National Trust for Historic Preservation,†said Michael Cogswell, executive director of the Louis Armstrong House Museum.
Participating cultural institutions include the National Jazz Museum, Weeksville Heritage Center, the Langston Hughes Community Library and Cultural Center, the Louis Armstrong House Museum, the Woodlawn Conservancy and the Sandy Ground Historical Society Museum.
