Founded in 1992, United Bank of Philadelphia is the largest minority-owned and managed financial services firm in Pennsylvania. United Bank, a wholly-owned subsidiary of United Bancshares, Inc., is the fourth largest black-owned bank on the BE Banks list headed by a woman.
The firm’s banking services focuses on small business owners, housing developers, churches and other community service providers, local residents, as well as corporations and institutions.
In 2008, the bank’s assets totaled $69.5 million—down 8.2% from last year.
