When the who’s who want to get together for an afternoon of light fare and heavyweight connections or an evening of elegant dining and long-lasting relationships, they call Bevy Smith, entrepreneur and creator of Dinner with Bevy. Smith, a former advertising executive who has a natural ability to bring together diverse groups of people around a common cause and a good meal, started Dinner with Bevy three years ago. Today, invitations to the private events are coveted by many, and the Harlem native has pulled off fabulous affairs for top brands and celebrities, such as Pharrell Williams, Selita Ebanks, Joy Bryant, Soledad O’Brien, Hugo Boss, Target, the Gap and Belvedere. What’s currently on Bevy’s plate? Serving as a Range Rover City Shaper and hosting the upcoming Art for Life Charity event for Russell Simmons in the Hamptons.
For this edition of The High Life with Tai Beauchamp, Tai caught up with Bevy at a brunch she recently hosted for friend and CNN anchor Don Lemon at Harlem’s Red Rooster in NYC. The event was a celebration of Lemon’s new book, Transparent, in which he talks about the importance of coming out as a gay man. Cheers!
