Legacy Bank, a subsidiary of Legacy Bancorp Inc., is the largest black-owned Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) in Wisconsin. Legacy Bancorp is the nation’s only holding company organized by African American women.
The bank was chartered by the Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions in 1999 with assets of $6 million. In just 10 years, the firm has grown its assets in excess of $224.5 million.
