Kanye West to Speak at Joel Osteen’s Church This Sunday

Lord have mercy! According to The Source, Kanye West is bringing his Sunday Service to Pastor Joel Osteen’s megachurch this weekend.

It’s being reported that West will make a guest appearance to speak at the Lakewood Church in Houston. The rapper, who recently released his first gospel album, Jesus Is King, last month, is scheduled to appear for a 20-30 minute interview with Pastor Olsteen on Nov. 17.

Lakewood Church seats 16,000, has a congregation of close to 70,000, and has about 45,000 members who attend each weekend, in addition to viewership of 10 million in the United States, alone. The service is seen in more than 100 countries worldwide and the reach is extended even more through his SiriusXM show. According to KHOU, Osteen had previously invited West to join him in service.

West had started his own Sunday Service about a year ago and had been performing his service to a crowd on his own property in Calabasas, California. As the service gained popularity at the venue, he decided to take it on the road to different cities in the U.S. for others to witness. He also has a choir who performs in front of large crowds of people on streets, churches, and festivals.

Kanye is extremely passionate about his newfound journey. He tells Beats 1 Radio’s Zane Lowe in an interview at his Wyoming location, “This is such a win for the Kingdom. For Kanye to come back home, from going from ‘Jesus Walks’ to ‘I Love It’, to say to God, ‘I tried it my way, it’s not working out. Everything is in shambles. I’m ending up in debt, making this money but still ending up in debt. My public standing is in shambles. I’m not in good shape. I’m having ups and downs with my health. People calling me crazy. People not wanting to sit with me.’ I had to just give it up to God.”

In addition to spreading the gospel, West’s also asserted his political ambitions for the White House during an appearance at Fast Company’s Innovation Festival last week. He went on to encourage black Americans to stop voting for Democrats. “When I run for president in 2024 — What y’all laughing at?” West said as the crowd burst into laughter.

The fashion designer was ranked as Forbes’ Highest-Paid Hip-Hop Act earlier this year.
