One Father’s Day, I bought my dad a golf-themed picture frame that says, "To the man who taught me that follow-through is everything." Getting a chance over the past few days to reflect on why I do what I do, what I hope to accomplish, and how I intend to get it done has been a wonderful opportunity, but all that thought doesn’t amount to much without a plan to put it into action. more »

If yesterday was about awe, today was about reflection. In our first full day of sessions, the speakers offered some thought-provoking ideas, and I left every session with some little nugget that touched a nerve and that I knew I'd have to come back to. more »

This is my first Women of Power Summit, but my expectations are high. I could not sleep the night before I caught my flight for Palm Springs. Part of it was anticipation, while the other reason was procrastination. The car bringing me the airport was late, getting through security was a hassle and my connecting flight out of LAX was delayed. But in this one particular instance, the journey wasn't as important as the destination. Because, once I arrived to the 2008 Black Enterprise Women of Power Summit in La Quinta, CA, my grievances subsided. more »
